School has begun, but I'm still busy in my attempts to finalize my
schedule and hammer myself into a new daily routine. I am pleased
to be able to say, however, that I survived the 3 day novel writing contest
this past labour day weekend, and had a complete novel at the end of it.
More to the point, it was a complete novel that I could be proud of. I've
prepared the first chapter for online viewing so
that you can read it. I wish I could offer more (perhaps the second
chapter at a later date), but I'm not eager to publish an entire novel
on-line. I have designs for it after the contest is over, and it would
be a shame if I shot myself in the foot by publishing it here first. In
addition, I could never control what happened to it if someone else
decided to download it, or print a copy, and make it their own. But I
don't have to tell you that I'm paranoid about my writing. In any
case, I do hope that you will like what I have to offer.
